We were just thinking about what to do last Sunday and decided that we will go for a drive to Panshet. Suddenly I remembered that somebody in office had talked about a beautiful place called Neelkantheshwar near Panshet. So immediately we asked for the location and went there. We were in for a surprise! We never knew that such a beautiful place existed so close to Pune; merely 40kms away from Pune. It is huge place located on a hilltop near Panshet. It is the abode to Lord Shankar and hence the name. Huge scenes from Mahabharata, Ramayana and other epics have been sculpted in and around the temple. It is just too amazing to be described in words. The photographs below are enough proof of what I have written above :)

Panshet dam!

As you climb up the hill to reach the temple, you just have to stop to admire the view of the village and the panshet backwaters below.

One of the many beautiful scenes sculpted in the premises of the temple. This is the "draupadi vastraharan" scene from Mahabharata.
