Rajdhani

Got a chance to explore Delhi more closely this time. We roamed about in our car through almost all the famous streets of Delhi including the circles of India gate, rajpath, connought place, sarojini nagar, Ferozshah Kotla, the streets towards red fort, the chandni chowk area and last but not the least "parantha galli". It was fun exploring both the sides of Delhi... The remains and charm of Old Delhi and the style and charisma of New Delhi.
Delhi in all means is fit to be the capital of our nation. It has the basic infrastructure in place.. atleast good roads, marking and names on all roads, quite some greenery around, parks and huge bunglows, malls, hotels, restaurants etc.
It has all the tourist places well developed and managed. They are farely clean and well maintained. I was suprised that there was an audio guide facility at the Qutub Minar and it was really good!
Shopping is a divine experience in Delhi. Even if you are not good at bargaining you will get good stuff at very reasonable prices. I had never heard of a Kurta being sold at rs. 100 and if you can bargain, lesser than that :) And mind you good quality cotton kurtas :) Sarojini Nagar and Dilli Haat are places to shop at!!! Dilli Haat is a very good place for foreigners and desis for shopping... You can bargain here too!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Food is as good at a 5 star restaurant as in road side shops. I must say better. You would get the real taste and variety as such road-side hotels... We ate various paranthas like alu parantha (most common), panner parantha, kela (banana) parantha, mix parantha, mewaa (sweet delicacy with all dry fruits) parantha, mutter (green pea) parantha, etc. It was a wonderful experience. The lassi I drank here was HEAVEN............ yummmmm!!!!!!!
I loved my stay here...!
